2007 Recipient - Eamon McElhone

Eamon McElhone was awarded this year’s Friends of Sean Cawley grant. Eamon participates in CYO sports and has dedicated time to his school’s yearbook. He also works at St. Laurence’s rectory and commits time to his family and friends. He has been described by a teacher as a “wonderful young man who will make the organization proud!”

2006 Recipient - Max Curran

Congratulations to Maxwell Curran, an eighth grader from St. Laurence School, is the 2006 recipient of a four- year, full-tuition grant to Bonner. We know Max will represent the organization and Sean’s name well!

2005 Recipient Christopher Nee

We are happy to announce that Christopher Nee is the recipient of the 2005 Friends of Sean Cawley Memorial Grant! All of the boys who applied are wonderful, young men. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to their teachers and the community for supporting these young men and helping them to reach their potential. The parish as a whole should be very proud of all of the applicants. Once again, they represented St. Laurence well; they showed great character and responsibility in the application process and the interview. It was a truly painstaking process, and we felt blessed to have such special boys in the running.

Again, we especially would like to thank the teachers and community members who wrote the recommendations and who are vital to the lives of many young people!

Recipient Chris Nee will attend Monsignor Bonner high school on a full, four-year scholarship. He is a kind and social young man who enjoy basketball and spending time with his friends. His understanding and articulation of friendship, loyalty and work ethics span far beyond his fourteen years. We look forward to watching him learn and grow over the years!

Chris had the opportunity to meet up with last year's recipient Jim Boyce, who has enjoyed his first year at Bonner. Jim rows for the crew team and stays connected to his St. Laurence classmates while forging new friendships at Bonner.
